The Hidden Risks Facing the Elderly in Hospital
We talk a lot about perimenopause and menopause, but far less about what happens to the body in old age, especially in hospital. For older adults, the greatest risk is often not just their diagnosis, but rapid muscle loss and malnutrition. Bed rest, inactivity and poor intake accelerate decline, increasing falls, infections, slower recovery and loss of independence. Nutrition and movement are not optional, they are essential.
